Vertical
pianos, sometimes referred to as uprights, are acoustic pianos that
are designed for those seeking the personal pleasure of piano playing
but have limited space or budget. Vertical pianos are popular as
rental pianos but both grand and verticals are available for rent.
We carry a wide selection of new and used verticals and they are
available in four common sizes. The size of a vertical piano is
important to know because when comparison shopping, you need to
compare apples to apples and spinets to spinets! Vertical pianos
are distinguishable by their height (approximate):
Spinet: 36" to 39"
Console: 40" to 43"
Studio: 44" to 47"
Upright: 48" to 60"
We have the largest selection of new
and used vertical pianos in Southern California. Some of the more
popular new brands we carry include: Kawai, Samick Pianos,
Schimmel Pianos, Sohmer Pianos, Vogel Pianos, Pearl River Pianos,
Weinbach Pianos, and Petrof Pianos. We also have in stock around
60 brands of used pianos. Please note we said 60 BRANDS not
just 50 Pianos! We have hundreds of new and used vertical
pianos to choose from. You'll have to visit our store to understand
why we say shopping at the Piano Warehouse is like shopping at five
piano stores at once.
Grand
pianos are often the focal point of the room where they rest. They
are as much a part of the furniture and décor as they are
a beautiful musical instrument. Grand pianos are designed, not just
for the serious pianist, but for anyone who enjoys the visual elegance
and the rich full sound synonymous with a grand. Owning a grand
piano is considered a symbol of success by many but keep in mind
that the price range and the quality levels are quite broad. With
Piano Warehouse's easy financing and huge inventory, almost any
family can now enjoy a grand. Grand pianos are typically made of
higher quality woods with higher quality finishes. Some are mass-produced
but many are hand-crafted in old-world traditions around the globe.
Generally, the larger the piano, the richer and stronger the sound
produced. Grand pianos are distinguishable by their length (approximate):
Petite Grand: 4'5" to 4'10"
Baby Grand: 4'11" to 5'4"
Classic/Parlor/ Medium Grand: 5'5" to 6'5"
Semi Concert Grand 6'5" to 7'4"
Full Concert Grand 7'5" to 9'6"
Some of the grand piano brands we
carry are Bosendorfer Pianos, Kawai Pianos, Kohler &
Campbell Pianos, Pearl River Pianos, Ritmuller Pianos, Samick Pianos,
Schimmel Pianos, Sohmer Pianos, Vogel Pianos, Weinbach Pianos, and
Petrof Pianos. And of course, just like our vertical pianos,
we have a huge selection of new and used grand pianos as well as
rental pianos available in both vertical and grand.
